The Advanced open water diver course builds on the skills and knowledge you gained in your Open Water course, helping you become a more confident and versatile diver. Through five exciting adventure dives, you’ll explore special interests under the guidance of a PADI Instructor.

As part of the course, you’ll complete a deep dive, which qualifies you to dive to 30m upon successful completion, a navigation dive, and three additional specialty dives of your choice.

Course requirements
Before attending the theory evening, you’ll need to complete the required reading, knowledge reviews, and quick quizzes for all five specialty dives.

Equipment you’ll need

• Cutting device
• Surface Marker Buoy (SMB) & spool or safety sausage
• Slate and pencil (or data carrier included with the manual)
• Compass
• Whistle (included if using our hire BCD)
• Torch and cyalume stick (for night dive)
• Logbook
• 1 passport-style photograph

Course schedule

• Thursday: 6:00pm–9:00pm – Theory at the shop
• Saturday: All day – 3 shore dives
• Sunday: All day – 2 boat dives

Course includes:

• PADI Advanced Open Water manual
• Theory session
• Five dives (shore and boat)
• Most scuba equipment (excluding mask, snorkel, boots, and fins)

Packages can also be tailored on request. Upon successful completion, you’ll be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, opening the door to deeper dives and a wider range of underwater experiences.
